MINIS Friendly Matches vs Upminster

MINIS Friendly Matches vs Upminster

Simon Parsons12 Oct 2020 - 09:03

Sunday 11th October 2020

The Brentwood "Buccaneers" Minis section welcomed their local rivals Upminster HC to the Sawyers Hall Community Trust Artificial Pitch on Sunday 11th October 2020.

The girls U10s teams played three matches against each other and both teams proved to be experienced campaigners despite their ages.
Thank you to Monica who managed the team at very late notice.

Upminster fielded two U12s girls teams and with Brentwood missing a few key players they ended up playing a lot of hockey!
Thank you to Alke who managed the team.
See photo of the U12s girls team.

The boys U10s team fielded some new faces in Liam and James who stepped up and slotted straight into the team. Charlie made a cameo appearance forgoing his football match to bolster the team.
Thank you to Rob who managed the team.

Lastly the boys U12s had the toughest of the fixtures this week up against a very strong and dynamic Upminster U12 boys team (there must be something in the water in Upminster).
There were debut U12 appearances for Jake S, Jake H, Vincent and Max B this week.
Thanks to Aiden and Robbie from the U10s who helped out in the last game as the boys were flagging .
Rob also managed the U12s team so thanks again!

Well done to both goal keepers this week. Ellie and Scott kept their goals very well and are both proving to be great assets to the Minis section. BTW we are looking for more willing goal keepers. Volunteers welcome to try out, kit supplied.

Thanks to the helpers, specifically the umpires, Lorna, James K and Derry.

Overall a great day of competitive hockey enjoyed by all.

Home team of the day goes to Brentwood Girls U12s.

Away team of the day goes to Upminster Boys U12s.

Training is back on next Sunday at 10am.
