The Mens' 3s travelled the short distance to Campion School to face Havering 3s on Saturday.

The team was changed from the previous week but then again that isn't new as the team changes every week! However those that were playing were clearly experienced and soon slotted into their positions well.

Havering had a good mix of youngsters and older players. They looked like a typical 3s team. Pace up front and strong defence at the back.

The game was open with both sides keen to break the deadlock first. Brentwood perhaps having the better of the chances but Havering also winning penalty corners and calling GK Arwyn into action on a number of occasions.

Both GKs were playing well in fact. The Havering GK also pulled off some great saves to keep his team in the game.

Half time was 0 - 0 but we all knew it wouldn't finish that way.

The second half continued in the same vein as the first. All action at both ends.

The deadlock was finally broken by Brentwood with a penalty corner goal. Dan Major struck a bullet into the bottom left corner. Unstoppable.

Brentwood should have gone on to dominate the game but Havering have a good spirit amongst them. They kept pushing and eventually pulled back an equaliser. A penalty corner of their own.

As the minutes passed towards the final whistle, Brentwood pushed forward with vigour. Ian R and Julian C pulling the strings in midfield. Dan M constantly driving into the opposition D. Nick E working tirelessly to win the ball back when we lost it.

And so into the final minute of the game. A penalty corner for Brentwood and Dan M again on hand to score the goal. This time from a slip left and a quick sweep into the bottom corner.

2 - 1 win to Brentwood but a pat on the back of the Havering players for their effort and never give up spirit.

Roll on top of the table Tower Hamlets this Saturday.
