On the back of a cruel 3-2 defeat Brentwood 3s were keen to bounce back. The mighty market town of Rochford had selected 15 of their finest men, and before a ball had been pushed you could tell it would be a classic. Play did not, however, start at 1230 as one of the umpires had to remove excrement from the pitch with a helping hand from Mops (his first assist of the day).

The match started at lightening pace, with Rochford under siege from the push back. However, 5 minutes in Boumphrey suffered a recurrence of a strain to his dodgy right hamstring which meant Brentwood were effectively down to 10 for the rest of the match. Rochford then had a period of pressure, but this was soon relieved by the midfield combo of Sajid and Logan who combined to win a short corner. Ian Anderson duly delivered a thumping hit to take Brentwood 1-0 up. Brentwood were soon down a further player as Mops was sin binned for talking back at the umpire. They road out a tricky spell and when Mops returned to the pitch a second goal was scored, again from Ian Anderson from a short corner.

At half time the clear message to the team was to get a couple more goals and to not talk back to the umpire. Brentwood 3s did well at the first ask, Ian Anderson with a nice turn and finish, and Mops with an excellent shot in to the bottom left corner leaving the keeper with no chance. However the majority failed to not talk back with half the team sin binned at one point or another. The only player to not talk back was the injured James Boumphrey, mainly because he was distracted by helicopters and aircraft flying to and from Stansted airport.
