Brentwood went to Crostyx with a mixed team of youth and experience and came away with a deserved point which could have even been a win!

Crostyx 3s are a similar team. They have some very good older players and some good younger players who are improving. They are also a "nice" team to play. Friendly and courteous and yet still competitive when it matters.

The home team enjoyed the majority of the play in the first half with Brentwood struggling to hold any possession or complete passes. As a result they took the lead through a penalty corner.

That was it at half time. 1 - 0 to Crostyx.

As was the case the week before, Brentwood appeared to wake up and became a changed team at the start of the second half. Frank and Harry pushed forward more and more and George and Shae were constant thorns in the side of the Crostyx defenders.

The equaliser soon arrived via a swift driving move down the left from Shae as he out paced two opponents, followed by a cross to Nick who fired low and hard into the goal.

Then Zesh popped up in the opposition D with the ball. Neat skills took him past the defender before he slipped the ball neatly past the keeper before he could react.

The home team soon reacted and upped their game equalising themselves. 2 - 2 with ten minutes to go.

George pounced on a loose back pass and tricked his way past the last defender before hitting a reverse stick "Tomahawk" in. 2 - 3 with five minutes to go.

Again the home team pushed forward with intent and with five minutes to go their experienced forward dribbled through and struck a thunderbolt into the corner.

So it finished three all. A fair result to both teams.
